Firearm Transfer Policy:

IN BOUND TRANSFERS FROM A FEDERAL FIREARMS DEALER 

Federal Firearm License Dealers:  A valid copy of your FFL document is necessary prior to or at the time of the transfer.

IN BOUND TRANSFER FROM PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL:

If a private individual is shipping in a firearm for transfer the following criteria must be followed;

In bound transfers must have two Photo copies of the following items.

  • Government issued ID with picture, DOB, and full current address
  • Driver’s License or State issued ID 
  • Concealed Carry License or Permit
  • Car registration 
  • Utility bill

We will not transfer the item without these documents – NO EXCEPTION

OUT BOUND TRANSFERS 

Out bound transfers documentation from private individuals must include:

  • Photo copy of Government issued ID with picture, DOB, and full current address.
  • Copy of a typed of bill of sale for my records including the make model and serial number of the firearm and name and address of where it will be delivered. 

All items shipped will be visually verified of make, model and serial number.

WE WILL ONLY SHIP OUT TO VALID FFL DEALERS ONLY

VALID FFL DEALERS:

  • We require a signed copy of your transfer FFL license prior to releasing the transferred item.
  • DEALERS, contact us at 505-899-1144
  • Email a copy to FFL@ABQGuns.com
  • Please include a signed copy of your FFL with your shipped item

All FFL Licenses will be verified through ATF EZ-Check prior to the release of all items to the customer

We will FAX or EMAIL our FFL to your dealer for their validation upon request

WE WILL NOT TRANSFER ANY FIREARM TO ANYONE UNTIL ALL REQUIREMENTS ARE MET – NO EXCEPTIONS

NICS BACKGROUND CHECK RESOLUTIONS:

Proceed: NICS has delivered a resolution decision of proceed and you will be able to take your firearm with you.

Delays: If you receive a delay in your background check, we will hold the firearm in a secure location until we receive the final determination in accordance with all BATF regulations, we will transfer the firearm after the allotted time frame even if we have not received a final resolution from NICS.

Deny: If you are denied for any reason, you will be responsible for the cost of postage to return the firearm to the original owner plus the $15 transfer fee.  

**Please note, if we receive a final resolution call as DENY after we have transferred the firearm to you, we are obligated to deliver the purchaser information to BATF.

ABANDONED FIREARMS:

If you receive a DENY, the transfer is wrong or you decide you don’t want the items you have purchased, it is your responsibility to make any arrangements to return your items to the retailer you purchased it from.  We will help you in anyway we can however, if you fail to make these arrangements and the firearm or item is left without making explicit storage arrangements, (additional storage costs will apply) it will be considered abandoned after three months (90 days) and subject to forfeiture on your part.

If the original owner or dealer WILL NOT accept the return of the firearm or item, ABQ GUNS will remain the lawful owner of the abandoned items, free and clear and will not be responsible for any costs associated with your purchase.
